Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using levalock (the "app", the "service", "we", or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms form a binding contract between you and LUNIO Ltd, the company operating levalock.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use levalock. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is true and accurate. We may verify your age and identity at any time, and we reserve the right to remove any account that fails verification or is found to belong to a minor.
3. Your account
You're responsible for your account, including keeping your login information safe and for everything that happens under your account. You agree not to impersonate anyone, use someone else's identity, share your account, or create multiple accounts. You must notify us immediately at contact@levalock.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable use
When using levalock, you agree NOT to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, or stalk anyone
- Post nudity, sexual content, hate speech, or violent content
- Create fake profiles or impersonate real people, including celebrities or public figures
- Solicit money, gifts, cryptocurrency, or commercial services from other users
- Promote, advertise, or recruit for any product, service, or organization
- Send spam, unsolicited promotions, or chain messages
- Use the app for any illegal purpose or to facilitate illegal activity
- Scrape, copy, or republish other users' photos, messages, or content
- Bypass safety features (blocking, reporting, age verification)
- Access the app via automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers)
- Use the app if you are under 18 years old
- Use the app if you have been previously banned by us
Violating any of these rules can result in immediate suspension or permanent removal of your account, with or without notice.
5. Content you post
You retain ownership of the photos, videos, and text content you upload ("Your Content"). By posting Your Content on levalock, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where Your Content has already been shared with other users (e.g., messages) or where we are legally required to retain it.
You're solely responsible for Your Content. You promise that you own or have the rights to everything you upload, and that Your Content does not violate anyone's rights or any law.
6. Our right to moderate
We may, in our sole discretion and without prior notice, remove any content, suspend any feature, or restrict, suspend, or terminate any account that we believe violates these Terms, harms other users, or exposes us to legal risk. We are under no obligation to host or display any user content. Where reasonable and safe to do so, we will provide notice before suspending or terminating an account, but we may act immediately for serious violations (including illegal content, threats, fraud, or harm to other users).
As a UK-based service that hosts user-generated content, we operate in line with our duties under the UK Online Safety Act 2023. We assess and manage risks of illegal content and harms to users, maintain content-moderation processes, and provide in-app reporting tools so you can flag content, profiles, or behaviour that breaches these Terms or applicable law. The UK regulator for this regime is Ofcom.
7. Verification
levalock verifies users' identity and age through ID documents and selfie photos. You agree to provide accurate verification materials when requested. Submitting false or misleading verification information will result in account removal. See our Privacy Policy for details on how verification data is stored and used.
8. No background checks
levalock does NOT conduct criminal background checks, sex-offender registry checks, or other formal vetting on users. While we verify identity and age, we cannot guarantee that any user is who they say they are in all respects, or that any user is safe to interact with. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and in person. Take precautions, follow the Safety Tips in the app, and use common sense.
9. No guarantee of matches or outcomes
We don't guarantee that you'll find matches, friendships, romantic partners, or any specific outcome through levalock. The behavior, intentions, and identity of other users are not under our control. levalock is a platform — not a participant — in your interactions, online or offline.
10. Safety & user-to-user disputes
levalock is not responsible for the conduct, identity, statements, or actions of any user. We are not responsible for any harm, financial loss, emotional distress, injury, illness, or other damages that may result from your interactions with other users, whether through the app or in person. Meet new people in public places, do not share financial information, do not send money, and trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, block and report.
11. Premium subscriptions
levalock may offer paid subscriptions (such as levalock+). The following terms apply to any subscription you purchase:
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) until you cancel.
- How to cancel: You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings (on iOS) or your Google Play subscription settings (on Android). Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: All payments are handled by Apple or Google. levalock does not process refunds directly. Refund requests must be made through Apple App Store support or Google Play support, and are subject to their policies.
- Price changes: We may change subscription prices. We will notify you in advance, and the new price will only apply to renewals after the next billing date.
- Free trials: If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will automatically be charged for the subscription.
12. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, and messages. This action cannot be undone.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, harm other users, or for any reason we consider necessary to protect the service, our users, or our legal interests. Where reasonable and safe, we will give you notice. For serious violations we may act immediately.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership of content licenses already granted, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on levalock infringes your copyright, please email contact@levalock.com with:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
- The location (profile, photo, message) of the allegedly infringing content
- Your full name, address, and contact information
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will review valid complaints and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and terminating the account of repeat infringers.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless levalock, its team, and its service providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the app, (b) Your Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, (d) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (e) your interactions with other users. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense of any matter you would otherwise indemnify us for, in which case you will cooperate with us.
15. Disclaimers
levalock is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your expectations. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, levalock and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising from your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100.
UK consumer rights: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the UK Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Some jurisdictions don't allow some of these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
17. Force majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, government action, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications outages, third-party service failures, or pandemic-related disruptions.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top, and for significant changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree with the changes, your only remedy is to stop using the app and delete your account.
19. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them or your use of the app (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply, nothing in this section limits your rights under those laws.
20. Apple App Store specific terms
If you downloaded levalock from the Apple App Store, the following applies:
- These Terms are between you and levalock, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- The app is licensed to you, not sold. Your license is non-transferable and limited to use on Apple-branded devices you own or control.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, warranty, or product-liability claims for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any third-party intellectual property claims relating to the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
21. Google Play specific terms
If you downloaded levalock from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not responsible for the app or its content. levalock is solely responsible for any claims you have relating to the app.
22. Severability & entire agreement
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, form the entire agreement between you and levalock.
